Meridian Street United Methodist Church is a congregation living a faith for today in fellowship and service. One of the profound ongoing mission opportunities at Meridian Street is our partnership with the Indianapolis Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN). Meridian Street is committed to providing shelter, food and comfort to homeless families who have entered into IHN. Four times a year IHN families spend the week at Meridian Street. Shelter, meals, activities, prayers, comfort and friendship are offered to the families during their stay. The third floor of the church becomes home for these families and congregation members participate in providing the meals, transportaion and hospitality. Though the families only stay at the church one week at a time, the friendships developed often last long after the family has moved to the next church or into their own home. Over the years, Meridian Street has found the ministry not only to be a blessing to the families it serves, but also to the church families and friends who participate.
