The Chancel Choir leads our worship services at 9:00 and 10:30 am on Sunday mornings, as well as singing at all holy day services. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary. There are no rehearsals during the summer. The choir draws from the entire congregation, with members from High School age to senior citizens.

At present, we have 23 regular singers and are always looking for new members to come and join us. Short-term or seasonal commitments are welcomed by those unable to make a full-time commitment. During the summer months, we offer opportunities for soloists, small groups, and instrumentalists from the congregation and community to perform for worship services. Special instrumental groups join us for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Sunday, Easter morning services, and a special Jazz Vespers on Race Day Eve in May.

We enjoy a variety of music from contemporary to traditional to classical using organ and piano accompaniments.  There is something for everyone and no talent too small to be a vital part of this family of musicians.  We invite you to sing, fellowship, worship, laugh and experience the joy of lifting your voice in song with us as we 'make a joyful noise unto the Lord!'

Director of Music Ministries is Peggy Macke with Dorothy Scott as church organist.

Our young children's choirs meet at 10:00 am each Sunday morning.  The Mini Choir for grades K - 2 meets in room 114 with Teresa Kofodimos.   The Junior Choir for grades 3 - 6 meets on the Fellowship Hall stage with Robin Outcalt.  After their rehearsal time, the children will attend Sunday school at 10:30.  Each choir will perform in worship on a rotating basis - generally once a month.

Chancel Bells is the adult handbell group. This bell choir meets on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm and is open to men and women. They perform the 4th Sunday of each month during Sunday morning worship services. The Chancel Bells have numerous opportunities to perform for special occasions outside the church, as well. They perform yearly at Indy’s Yuletide Celebration as well as traveling as a group to seminar performances in the summer months. Come and ‘ring’ with this special group of music ministers.

Gospel Ringers is our children’s bell choir. It is offered to all children in grades 3-6. Their rehearsal time is Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm. This group performs on the 2nd Sunday of the month rotating between the 9:00 and 10:30 am services. This special group of young musicians work hard to share their love of music with others.

Youth Ringers is offered for grades 7 – 12 and they rehearse on Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm. This group performs on the 2nd Sunday of the month rotating between the 9:00 and 10:30 am services. This is a great opportunity for our young adults to express themselves musically and offer their talents in worship.

The Handbell groups were recently able to purchase 4 new octaves of bells for your ringing and listening pleasure.  This was done through a Give-a-Bell memorial campaign in recognition of 15 years of bell ringing at Meridian Street.  There are lots of opportunities for anyone who loves music and wants to be part of a truly inspiring musical ensemble.

Our Chancel Bells and Youth Ringer's director is Miriam Wells-Metelko. Our Gospel Ringer's director is Beth Larner.
